NISSAN Z NISMO GT500 1-2 FINISH AT ROUND 2 OF FUJI GT 3-HOURS

The second round of the 2024 SUPER GT series specially named as “Super GT FUJI GT 3-Hours” was held at Fuji International Speedway. This edition of Super GT’s annual Golden Week classic marks the first-ever three-hour endurance race for the series at Fuji and also celebrates the 30th anniversary of the series’ first championship event in 1994.

The Nissan Z NISMO GT500 of #3 Z Niterra MOTUL Z of Akisei Takaboshi/Atushi Miyake pairing and car #23 Z MOTUL AUTECH Z driven by Katsumasa Chiyo/Ronnie Quintarelli qualified on 2nd and 3rd  respectively to claim their first GT500 Class victory and a 1 – 2 finish for the season.

Starting driver Takaboshi in #3 Z had a perfect start and overtook the pole-sitter by the first corner. The pair powered their Nissan Z all the way to the finishing line with a 13-second gap over the second placed Nissan Z.  The #23 Z had more to do as they were embroiled in a battle for second and third placing, but with a well-executed pit-stop and the opposition having mechanical failure at the closing stages of the race – Chiyo in #23 Z finally claimed a hard-earned second spot on the podium.
